On the path that leads to a life on our own terms, there are often pebbles, rocks, and sometimes a sign that says “this road is closed”. It takes courage to walk over those pebbles, move that rock, or find a way around it.
Courage can be compared to muscles: the more we use them, the stronger they become. But if we neglect them, they become weak, and when we need them to act quickly, they often have a hard time starting.
The definition of courage is the courage and/or strength to do something that can be dangerous.
When did you last experience butterflies fluttering in your stomach or a lump in your throat? When was the most recent instance you felt frightened, exceptionally nervous, or deeply uncertain about a decision you had to make?
Courage is the willingness to make those decisions every day and face the consequences. It is the ability to move forward, regardless of the fear you feel. Each of us must deal with fears, doubts, depressions, and worries. But not everyone has the courage to overcome them. Those who do are considered brave.
Passion, humility, integrity, truth, trust, strength, and compassion are all results of being brave. To show these in everyday life, that is courage.
It takes an enormous amount of courage to become the person you truly want to be. It is easier to focus on ways things can go wrong. It takes courage to change your mindset; to find your way and be true to yourself and discover your virtues.
Courage is the central theme in Bolster’s work, so we look forward to sharing our way of working with you in the coming days. Are you ready to go on the road and experience what will happen?
